I looked up a random WWE video on Amazon to show someone as a joke. This is what my Amazon homepage looks like this morning.
Dink & Catie’s Wedding (Rehearsal)
I took a few photos of my brother-in-law’s wedding this past weekend. They had an actual photographer, so I pretty much only took photos at the rehearsal, and a few of getting ready the morning of the wedding.

The Rocket Has Launched
My friend Craig: The rocket has launched
Me: Um, what?
Craig: That means Katie has left for Baltimore. I realize now we need to decide on a code phrase before it’s time to say the code phrase.
Baby Belly!
My friend is expecting her third child in May, so we did a few belly shots, along with some shots I got while chasing her two sweet boys around the park.
Here is one sweet little boy

And the other sweet little boy

Major cuteness

E and her belly!

Easter Trip to Le Mars
This past weekend, we roadtripped to Le Mars, IA to visit Tim’s grandparents for Easter.
My travel companions

Our first stop, obviously

Gorgeous weather as we left town

It got worse the closer we got to Le Mars. Because God hates western Iowa.

Rearview mirror shot. Because I think they’re cool.

Cute park they built in an empty lot in Downtown Cherokee, IA

Why are there always names on old buildings?

LIONS!!

Good thing we brought our navigator

Zoey loves roadtrippin!

Ari Hest
I can’t get any photos to upload to Facebook for some reason, so here are a few I would have added in the past couple months. Starting with Ari Hest, who I saw at a house concert in Cedar Falls

Drummer Doug

Erika decided to try her hand at playing Doug’s drum

Set list

Good times were had by all!

5. Room:A Novel, Emma Donoghue
I read this book a while ago and I’ve been trying to figure out what to say about it. First of all, I adored this book. Jack, the five year old narrator, tells the story simplistically but profoundly. Emma Donoghue did such an amazing job of making Jack childlike without being too cutesy. Jack’s grammar is sometimes lacking, and he simply makes up words for things he doesn’t know, which is exactly what a five year old would do.
The interesting thing about this story is that, from Jack’s perspective, life is just fine in 11 foot square Room because he’s never known anything else. He can watch tv, run around, read books, and play. His mom (Ma) is the only friend he needs and he has no idea that any other way exists.
I felt for Ma, because she had known a world outside of Room. Room has been her prison for seven years, and even though she’s careful not to express it to Jack, she is desperate to get out.
This book is tough to describe without giving it away, but absolutely, positively, READ IT! You’ve never read anything like it before. I’m going to go out on a limb and say I hope they don’t make a movie out of this book. I think the simplistic way things are described and the poignant story is better left in the minds of the readers.
